No boat required, you can fish from shore or from your boat. In addition to fishing Lake McConaughy you can also fish Lake Ogallala. Registrations will be taken online at KastingForKids.org through PayPal with a donation of $32 or at registration on June 5, 2009 for $40. Children 15 yrs. of age or younger are half price.
1. ENTRY FEE: All contestants regardless of age must register and have paid their entry fee prior to fishing for the contest. Contestants 15 yrs. and under $16.00 (pre-registration) $20.00 (at Check-In with a fully paid guardian, 16 yrs. and up $32.00 (pre-registration) $40.00 (at Check-In). Register Online @ KastingForKids.org or register at Check-In Friday June 5 from 5 P.M. – Midnight at the Nebraska Game & Parks Lake McConaughy Visitors Center located South of Kingsley Dam. Children 15 yrs. and under participating in the Kids' Fishing Clinic and Water Expo at Lake Ogallala SRA will be given the opportunity to enter into the tournament following the clinic June 6, 2009 for the Children's pre-registration price with a fully paid guardian.
2. *TROPHY WALLEYE: Trophy walleye will be the largest walleye caught during the tournament. The angler who catches this walleye will have a chance to win the $25,000 prize by matching a predetermined fractional lb. (i.e. if the largest walleye is 8.06 pounds and the predetermined fractional pound is .06 the angler would win the prize). Grand Prize Promotions reserves the right to polygraph (where applicable) by a licensed American Polygraph Certified polygrapher selected by Grand Prize Promotions. Maximum prize limit, one (1) payout.
3. LICENSE/PERMIT: All entrants must comply with the law of the State of Nebraska. You must have a valid Nebraska fishing license as required by law. You must also posses a Nebraska Game & Parks Park Permit on your vehicle to enter Nebraska Game & Parks managed areas. Licenses and Park Permits are available at the Lake McConaughy Visitors Center and Local Bait Shops.
4. TACKLE: All fish must be caught by baited hook and/or artificial lure by the mouth. Evidence of any other method will result in the prize or prizes not being awarded.
5. FISHING AREA: Waters identified as Lake McConaughy and Lake Ogallala (does not include canals and waters
beyond the Lake Ogallala Dam).
6. FISHING HOURS: The contest shall commence at 12:01 a.m. on June 6, 2009 and run continuously until 12:01 p.m. June 7, 2009. Lines will be cutoff promptly at 12:01 p.m. Sharp. Don’t be late. Late or dead fish will not be weighed!
7. WEIGH STATIONS INCLUDE: Kasting For Kids Headquarters located down in Spillway Bay (Boat Weigh Dock Available at this location), Kasting For Kids Lake Ogallala Weigh Station located at Eagle Viewing Center, JK Outdoors (Kasting For Kids Weigh Station Partner) Located at Gate 13 on the North West Side of Lake McConaughy.
8. PRIZES: The weight of the fish will determine the placement for prizes. Length of fish will be used as a tie breaker only. There are only prizes for single fish entries, there will be no prizes awarded for total ‘stringer’ weight.
9. JUDGES: The decision of the contest directors and judges shall be final in any and all situations or disputes.
10. AWARDS PRESENTATION & BBQ: Sands Edge (Located North of Kingsley Dam on the Corner of Hwys. 61 & 92) Lunch will be served from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. and awards presentation from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
11. RULES FORM WITH FISHERMAN NUMBER MUST BE RETAINED BY THE CONTESTANT AS PROOF OF ENTRY AND TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ALL PRIZES AND ADMISSION TO BBQ LUNCH AT SANDS EDGE (LOCATED JUST NORTH OF KINGSLEY DAM ON THE CORNER OF HWYS. 61 & 92).
